The Russian Revolution of 1905 started after Russia was demolished which led to the death of Czar Nicholas II and ended the Czarist government
After the end of the war Japan asked President Roosevelt to negotiate a peace treaty between the two countries that fought at Portsmouth. After, President discussed the balance of power and equal economic opportunity. President Roosevelt worried that Japan would drive Russia out entirely. Japan after all this took control over Korea and much of Southern Manchuria including a railway that connected throughout the whole region. They also gained the southern part of the Sakhalin island.
The war greatly affected the Japanese and Russian economy in costs of machine guns and artillery.
Around 5 years later, Japan connected Korea to its colonial Empire.
The war also plays a role in modern day militarism in Japan
